Hi, I’m Scott Gruber, President and CEO of Tompkins VIST Bank.
Since 1909, Tompkins VIST Bank has been serving our customers and our communities through economic vitality, economic hardships, and everything in-between.We are all aware that the Coronavirus has thrown shock waves into our community, and knowing how to navigate through these challenging times can be difficult. But we will get through this – together.
I want you to know Tompkins VIST Bank is one of many organizations that are here for you and our community. As an essential business, we remain open with proper precautions being taken to ensure the safety of our employees and customers. Many Chambers of Commerce are providing guidance and resources; businesses are banding together to brainstorm ideas; and here at Tompkins, to assist current customers with unexpected financial burdens faced during these challenging time, we’ve implemented a temporary loan assistance program for our customers. This program offers 60 day loan payment deferment for all commercial loans and a 90 day loan payment deferment for all consumer loans. More information on this program can be found on our website, and you can also contact your local branch or our Customer Care Center at 1-888-238-3330 for more information. To further help you navigate these challenging times, we have also put together a few resources that contain great ideas/tips for your business:
Small Business Administration Guidance & Loan Resource
Family First Coronavirus Response Act
Resources for Working Remotely
Coronavirus Small Business Guide – US Chamber of Commerce
Some of our favorite tips for businesses are:
- Shift your sales strategy online where you can
- Encourage your followers to purchase gift cards to use at a later date
- Know your numbers better than you ever have. Work with your vendors, partners and local officials to help you plan for the long term
This crisis will end, but we will have work to do to rebuild our community and our businesses. And you can count on your Tompkins VIST Bank family to be right there with you helping to rebuild. 111 years is long time; and history has taught us that, through the strength of community and unity, we can get through all forms of hardships.
You and the community are at the core of all we do, and we are in this, together. Stay safe.
