To our valued customers,
As we begin a new year, I’d like to start by thanking you for your support in what was the most difficult year most of us have ever experienced. I’d also like to briefly recap how we tried to support you - our customers and communities - in 2020.
Keeping you safe
Our most important accomplishment was safeguard
ing the well-being of our customers and team members in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our goal was to achieve this while providing you with ongoing access to your funds and banking services. As we worked through these challenges, I want to thank you for your incredible patience and resilience. We have always believed we have a special bond with our customers and 2020 was evidence of that. Together, we stood strong and overcame unprecedented obstacles.
Supporting businesses
To mitigate the pandemic’s impact on area companies, we helped more than 767 business customers receive a total of $127 million in funding through the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program. We’re gratified that these efforts protected more than 7,000 local jobs. We also emphasized access to our Internet, mobile and virtual capabilities, and are pleased to see that more individuals and businesses are taking advantage of them.
Helping communities
As a community bank, we believe in supporting the philanthropic organizations that improve the lives of others. Last year, with many people left without even the basic necessities, that need was never greater. We responded by exceeding our donation goal for United Way, for making substantial donations to area food banks, and by continuing to support educational programs.
Looking ahead, we are positive about 2021 and will continue to make banking safe and even more convenient for you. Most importantly, we are truly grateful for your support during this time and wish you, your friends and families a happy, healthy New Year!
Sincerely,
Scott Gruber
